Memorial Weekend.

Well.... We had plans this weekend to drop off the kids with the Parents on Saturday for mine and Davids Anniversary. Abby woke up sick on Friday Morning and with my Father in Laws upcoming Surgery, It would not be wise to put him at risk of catching whatever it is she had.

By Saturday Evening she was feeling much better so we rented some movies and just cuddled up on the couch. ( That is more our comfort zone anyway! )
Sunday we were invited for a Wiener roast at my Aunt and Uncles but early in the afternoon, Avery and I started to feel sick so we stayed home. The kids were so upset they looked forward to it so much.
Monday we set up the new pool and enjoyed the day and had a cookout in the backyard.

My Handsome Little Man.

Sun is shining Today and it is so beautiful. 9 day's till School is out for Summer and I can't wait. There is something about being in the Sun that makes you feel Happy and glad to be alive.

Last night Avery pitched his first baseball game and I was a mess over it but he was so brave and awesome. I have always told my kids not to walk through life watching others do all of the cool stuff you wish you could. Just get out there and try everything and have no regrets!
Saturday it's mine and Davids 11 year Anniversary together. I can't believe it's been that long. David's parents are going to watch the kids ( this will be the first time Brady will be without me ) We will have lunch and Adult conversation, AHHHH I can't wait.

Sarah, Tyler and Abby

I was prepared for a rain storm!
Last Friday David, myself , Grace and Brady all went again to the Zoo, this time with Abby and her Class. I heard with much dread all week about the upcoming rain for Friday. Avery's Trip was great but a bit wet in the end so this time I was prepared. Wouldn't you know, NO RAIN!!!
We had Abby and two of her friends Sarah and Tyler. We even got to spent a little bit of time with my sister since she just happened to be there for my nephews field trip as well.
It was a really good day with Beautiful weather.

Grace and the Puma. (she blew her whistle and it woke up and looked at her like she was lunch.

(Drowned Rat ) and Brady.

David and I took Grace and Brady with us to Chaperone Avery's class trip to the Zoo ( we will be going again next Friday with Abby's class ) It was Beautiful weather for most of it. about half an hour before we were to meet up with all of the other groups it started pouring. We all went home with soggy shoes and looking like drowned rats but we really had a great time.
This was Brady's 1st trip to the Zoo, we have a membership so we will be spending a lot of time there I'm sure. Grace loved it to of course ( she loves all creatures and would kiss a snake if I'd let her ) she walked a little bit but It really takes a lot out of her so when we got to the car she was out like a lite!

I have realized that although there are things in Life that I can control, There are so very many that I can not.

This Blog was originally intended to vent my feelings in what ever rational or irrational way that it came out. It was an outlet in which I could express and share things in my life with those who cared about me and things I was experiencing. I don't go back and edit my entry's so it pleases everyone, that can never happen and it would defeat the whole purpose of spontaneous feelings at the time that they are felt.

LISTEN PEOPLE if you want to take what I write and make it something more, then that is out of my control. I am just a Person living life the best way I know how and you can take me or leave me but I Am who I am.
and I'm way to old to change that now.

Well, the Easter bunny made his stop at our house as usual, finding the baskets and the egg hunt was a bit more challenging this year for Grace since she can't stand or walk but you would never know it as happy as she is all of the time. I just wish I could just let it all go and not stress about it or worry about when she will be back to normal and if there will be any long term damage but I admit, I'm nervous.
Brady even got his own basket as well minus the candy, and He was very happy to just try and eat the Easter grass inside it. LOL

Avery found out he is on the Dodgers baseball team this year ( kid pitch )
we are very excited and can't wait to cheer him on.
GO DODGERS!
THAT'S IT, NOTHING MORE EXCITING TO SHARE.

Cast is off! / Easter Bunny.

The calm before the storm.
This was much scarier then we all thought it would be.

Yeah! LEGS

Grace was in heaven, ( she could not sit up on her own )
I had to keep her from sliding down into the water.

We went today 4/10/09 and got pictures with the Easter Bunny.
*** Grace still can't walk or put any weight on her legs and they look like little baby legs. She can stretch them out straight and bend them just a little bit. We are looking at hopefully 2 or 3 months of limping ( as soon as she starts bearing weight on them. right now she has one leg a quarter inch shorter but when there is a injured bone the blood supply in that area is higher and it will grow a bit faster to compensate, so it should all be fine within 12 mths.
Thank you to all that cared about Gracie . We had friends and family that really were incredible to us and we will never forget the people that were here for us when we really needed them. This was an amazing realization for me, The people that said they would always be there didn't give my baby girl a second thought. The people I never expected to be there showed so much love and kindness like we were a part of there family. These same people had so much going on and are dealing with a lot pain and they made time to call and send packages to her. I will always be grateful to them.

Dreams or Messages?

I had a Dream Friday night about my Grandmother. I woke up Saturday feeling happy and spent the day remembering her and some of the things she would say to me. She was always very loving and comforting when I needed it the most. I think about her often so I didn't really think this dream was any different then any other time. In my dreams she would tell me that she is proud of me and the life that I have made for myself and my choices . With all the stuff going on I just did not realize the date until Last night when I was typing out an invoice and noticed the date.
Saturday was the 6th anniversary of Grandma's Passing. So I wonder. was it just a dream? or was it a message from her. I hope she is watching over my family and that she is proud of me. I wish she was here. I could always talk to her about anything. I was never guarded with her, I trusted her and knew she loved me without judgement. There are things that I only told her and those things went to Heaven with her. 6 years have gone by but I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone and call her. I miss her and I feel very lucky to have had her in my life, I just wish my children could have known her and how great she was.

What's the Big Deal about Twilight???

I have to admit, I don't get it. Maybe you have to read the book first? I don't know. I am reading another series right now so maybe I will try to read it after.

I rented Twilight on DVD on Saturday and I'm sorry but I thought it was boring and Lacked Story!! I have friends and cousins that would not agree at all but I just don't get it!!!

I was very excited to see that there were several of them left and there was such hype about it that I couldn't wait to watch it. about 15 min in, David and I were already annoyed by the color. We thought it lacked the romance and fear that I really kinda expected after all the talk about it.

I'm still a little disappointed and kinda want that time back. LOL

Sorry to all of you that are at home watching Twilight for the 20Th time but I just don't get it.......

Spring Break Yippee!

My Big Man.

First Breakfast Out with Grace in Cast ( Thanks Bill Jr. )

I'm so Glad it is Spring Break. I miss the kids when they're at school all day.

Avery did a awesome job at the school program on Wednesday, We were so proud of him. He had a Solo singing part. GO AVERY, GO AVERY!

I don't have a lot of exciting things to talk about lately with Grace still in her cast but we have been getting out more often now that I can get her in the back of double stroller and Brady in the front. for weeks after the accident she was in some pain so we didn't even try but now she can flip herself from back to front and drag herself around on the floor.

This Wednesday we will go for Gracie's 6 week appointment with the Orthopedic Doc for yet another x-ray, As hard as it has been I really can't believe it has been 6 weeks. We are hoping that she will only have 2 weeks left and will finally have the cast removed. That will be a Great day.

We have been very blessed to have great friends and Family that have called and sent gifts and cards for Grace, my aunt, uncle and cousins have been so unbelievably kind to us and that means so much to David and I. I don't have a lot of family that give my kids a second thought other then my sister Susi and brother Bill. My aunt, Uncle and Cousins have shown my family so much kindness these past two months, I feel very Lucky to have them care so much about Grace and send her so many gifts. I will always remember how kind they have been to us.

Just Favorites Today, BRAIN IS MUSH !!!

Thank You Susi for those first two ( Love Um )

( Great Poem for right Now in my life )
Life Is Fine

I went down to the river, I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't, So I jumped in and sank.
I came up once and hollered! I came up twice and cried!
If that water hadn't a-been so cold I might've sunk and died.
But it was Cold in that water! It was cold!
I took the elevator Sixteen floors above the ground.I thought about my baby And thought I would jump down. I stood there and I hollered! I stood there and I cried! If it hadn't a-been so high I might've jumped and died.
But it was High up there! It was high! So since I'm still here livin', I guess I will live on. I could've died for love--But for livin' I was born Though you may hear me holler, And you may see me cry--I'll be dogged, sweet baby, If you gonna see me die. Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!

I love quotes about kids and family ( It helps me remember the big picture and not the everyday grind ).

The real question isn't whether or not you love your kids, but how well you are able to demonstrate your love and caring so that your children really feel loved.
- Stephanie Marston

A mother] discovers with great delight that one does not love one's children just because they are one's children but because of the friendship formed while raising them.
That's all I got today Kids.........
PEACE

First I want to say Thank You to all of the wonderful people sending packages to Grace. You are so unbelievable Thoughtful and Kind. It really is helping to make this more bearable so from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!!

Spending 11 hours in children's hospital has left us with 3 or 4 different viruses at our house. So if a three year old in a body cast wasn't enough. HUM lets see, I've seen puke, diarrhea, snot, mucus, strep throat, coughing, sneezing, belly aches, high fevers, low fevers and Teething. At one point I even thought I was going to lose my mind!

I know that in a couple of months it will be life again as we know it. sometimes it is all to easy to sit in wallow in it but David and I know how lucky we are that Grace wasn't hurt worse or that it didn't fall on the baby.
God really is good and I thank him everyday for my family and now for the strength that is getting us through. Only time will tell how or if Grace will have long term issues from this. I wont think about that right now, I will just be grateful she is here with us and that she is OK.

Life

I'm taking a moment to Breathe.

I just got back from picking up a prescription for Abby, she has Strep for the 2ND time in 11 days. Avery has a stomach virus ( use your imagination on that one! ) and Grace has muscle spasms and severe itching!

Thank God for Breast milk that's keeping the Baby healthy. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a germaphobe and this is really testing my yuck factor big time!!!

We have really great friends and Family that have been sending Grace care packages. They really make Grace happy and to see her smile right now makes our day. So Thank You all so much and I love you for bringing joy to her in a very tough time.

We took Grace to see her Orthopedic Doctor at Children's ( Via Wagon )on Wed 2-18-09 for a x-ray to make sure that the bone is still in place and I'm relieved to say that all is well and we will see him again in two weeks. Yeah for that...

Gracie ( AKA Supergirl )

I'm going to add just a little Post while Gracie is sleeping.

Wednesday Morning we stopped off at the store for just a minute and while we were there a cabinet fell on top of Gracie. Crushing her whole body underneath it.

The store manager had to help me get it off of her and then she called 911,

David made it to the store thank god before the EMT. The ambulance rushed her to Children's. (David followed in the van with the other kids)

They took x-rays and found she had a badly broken Femur ( right thigh)

They rushed her to the Operating Room. That was very hard, letting them wheel my baby away and she was so scared and I couldn't go with her.

A couple hours later as I waited for her up in her room, They wheeled in a very groggy little girl with a purple cast ( Spika body cast) That goes from right below the breast all the way down both legs to the toes.

I will post a picture now and I will try to write more later right now I just want to go lay down next to her and Thank God she's OK.
